Dancing with the Stars

dancing with the stars

With the newest season of Dancing with the Stars airing, for many of us, a new interest in pursuing a passion has ignited. Whether this new passion is dance or rugby, like Ilona Maher, practicing safely is important because no matter how long you have been pursuing your passion, injuries are inevitable. It's important to take care of yourself so that you can have a smooth recovery, bounce back quickly, and tackle your passion more fervently than ever!

The celebrities on Dancing with the Stars have a variety of different backgrounds, some being athletes and others with little prior athletic ability. Despite these differences in background, they all perform terrifically because of the energy they put into their training. Celebrities can train intensely because of a routine consisting of adequate training, self-care, nutrition, hydration, and rest to prevent injury. This regiment is not isolated to just celebrities or athletes. Everyone can have a routine that upholds their health and recovery.

In many cases, despite one's best efforts, injury still occurs. In dance, common injuries include sprains, strains, tendonitis, tears, fractures, and breaks of the leg, foot, and hip. These injuries do not have to be the end of your dancing passion. With proper treatment and an effective plan of care, you can get back to doing what you love better than ever.

At Sports Health Northwest, we want to assist you with a quick and effective recovery. We understand how important it is to be able to continue with what you are passionate about, whether that be dance, rugby, or anything else you love. We use techniques such as Platelet Rich Plasma injections, cortisone injections, and ultrasound-guided interventions to non-invasively treat injuries. Dr. David Westerdahl, MD, believes that a less invasive approach is more effective for treatment as it reduces the time for recovery, ensuring you get back to your normal routine and can resume pursuing new passions quicker than ever.

Don't let an injury keep you from continuing the pursuit of what you love. At Sports Health Northwest, we understand that injury is inevitable, and bouncing back to your passions is our goal. Give us a call and schedule a consultation to see how we can best assist you in treating or preventing injury so you can continue pursuing your passion.
